Hydroxyapatite is the main mineral that naturally makes up tooth enamel. Nano-hydroxyapatite is a lab-made version of that same mineral, in very fine particles.

It's a fluoride-free ingredient that leaves teeth feeling smooth and clean. Ours is 3% nano-hydroxyapatite. It's been used in oral care in Japan since the 1980s and is now common in fluoride-free formulations across Europe, the UK and Australia.

Fluoride is well proven, and many dentists recommend it. Nano-hydroxyapatite is a different, fluoride-free choice: it's the same mineral your enamel is made of, and it's been widely studied and used in oral care for decades.

As with any toothpaste, results depend on consistent brushing and overall oral care habits, so we always recommend talking to your dentist about what's right for you.

Some people choose fluoride-free care because of personal preference or concerns about fluoride ingestion in young children who tend to swallow toothpaste.

Nano-hydroxyapatite gives you an enamel-friendly mineral ingredient with a strong safety profile even if swallowed in normal brushing amounts, which is one reason it's often chosen for families with young kids. It's a personal choice, not a claim that fluoride itself is unsafe when used as directed.

Your mouth is home to a natural community of bacteria. Many conventional toothpastes contain strong detergents (like SLS) that can strip out the good bacteria along with the bad.

A microbiome-friendly formula is designed to clean effectively without wiping out that balance. That's why we leave out SLS and add prebiotic ingredients like chicory root extract, which help feed beneficial oral bacteria.

Yes. Flossy & Pure is 100% vegan. We use no animal-derived ingredients and do not test on animals.

In Australia, toothpaste is generally regulated as a cosmetic product rather than a therapeutic good, unless a specific therapeutic claim (like "treats gum disease") is being made, which requires separate TGA approval.

Flossy & Pure was created by Jess Ortega, a qualified and practising Oral Health Therapist with a Bachelor of Oral Health Therapy from the University of Newcastle.

Yes. Our tube is made from HDPE (Recycling Code #2), one of the most widely accepted plastics in kerbside recycling.

Squeeze out as much product as possible, replace the cap, and place it in your household recycling bin.

At the moment, Flossy & Pure ships within Australia only. Standard shipping is $4.95 for orders under $25, $6.99 from $25 to $79.99, and free on orders of $80 or more. We hope to offer international shipping in the future.

Change your mind? You can return unopened, sealed products within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the product price. Email admin@flossyandpure.com.au with your order number first and we'll send you return instructions. Return postage is at your cost and original shipping isn't refunded.
